New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has directed all the medical colleges and PG institutes to submit details of all the Students admitted to postgraduate medical courses during the academic Year 2023-24.
For this purpose, the Postgraduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) of NMC has set the deadline for the concerned medical institutes. According to the NMC notification, the last date of admission to the Post Graduate Broad Specialty course, as approved, is 25th October 2023. The portal for filling in the student details shall remain open till 28th October 2022.
"The details of the students who have taken admission to the PG medical courses as per the data filled in by the Colleges are placed on the NMC's website. However, the names of those students whose details are not filled in by the Colleges/ Institutes within the last date of submission of data on NMC's portal, will not be displayed othe NMC's website. Hence, the onus of furnishing the data on time will lie with the College/ Institute," the NMC notice stated.
The Medical Colleges are required to ensure that all admission in the PG courses are strictly in accordance with merit and are made in a transparent and fair manner as envisaged in the Regulations. Any violation shall lead to discharge of the concerned students from the courses and such action against the concerned Medical College/Institution as is permissible in law, the NMC added.
Therefore, all Medical Colleges/Institutions are called upon to submit the requisite information through an online system that can be accessed through NMC website (http://www/nmc.org.in). You are required to submit the details of all the Students admitted PG (Broad and Super Specialty) during the current academic year 2023-24.
Already existing login id is to be used for the purpose of logging in. Through this unique login id all the Medical colleges/Institutions must submit the admission details of postgraduate student within the stipulated time, beyond which the Colleges/Institutions will not be allowed to enter the details of the students into Student Admission Online Monitoring System for this current academic year 2023-24. The Colleges/Institutes need not send hardcopy of the data of admission in PG Courses. Data uploaded through the Student Admission Entry portal shall be the only data used for the purpose of monitoring students admission to PG courses.
If the login id is not functional or if the Medical College/Institutions are finding it difficult to login, an email may be sent to support.pgmonitoring@nmc.org.in with subject heading “Difficulty in logging in.”
Non receipt of this information within stipulated time will reflect on the recommendation to be made by the Commission for grant of permission/recognition to the Colleges/Institutions for that academic year and/or subsequent academic years.
The following guidelines shall be followed by the College/Institutions:-
i. Please visit the NMC website home page by using the URL as https://ift.tt/ruexiyW refer to the “COLLEGE LOGIN” section use the URL as https://ift.tt/Io0eJr7.
ii. A login screen will be displayed.
iii. Use the login credentials. Remember that the Password and the Unique ID are case sensitive. Provision is there to change the password by clicking on the “Forgot password” link. Password should be kept confidential.
10. The following details shall be captured in entry screen for Postgraduate student:-
i. Course Name
ii. Sanctioned intake capacity
iii. Date of admission
iv. Name of student with Registration No. & with which State Medical Council
v. Category: (Gen/SC/ST/OBC/PH/EWS).
vi. Gender: Male/Female
vii. National Eligibility –cum-Entrance Test
a. Percentile Score of NEET PG Exam
b. All India Rank
c. State Rank
viii. Stipend:-
a. Stipend Paid (Yes/No)
b. If no, state reasons and send clarificatory documents with hard copy.
c. Stipend paid in amount
d. Stipend paid by Govt. Inst. in your State.
ix. Name of the PG teacher under whom the student is admitted.
"Kindly add the details of the Students according to the fields as mentioned above which will be available on the screen. Provision has been given to modify or delete any wrong entry within 03 days of last date of admission to Broad and Super-specialty courses. No modifications will be allowed after the cutoff date. Last date of admission for the Broad specialty course is 25th October 2023 and accordingly window for entering the details will be available till 28th October 2023. Last date for admission in super specialty course and the last date of entering the admission details will be declared later," the NMC notice mentioned.
The Commission may ask for other supportive documents like Caste certificate, details of NEET PG/NEET SS exam etc. as and when required by the Post Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB). Please note that in case the number of seats in any postgraduate courses in NMC website showing ‘’Zero’’ or ‘’Dash’’ or course not being displayed then please submit the copy of NMC/MCI/Government of India, MoHFW letter with regard to number of seats fixed in respect of number of admission made by your institute. Otherwise the students admitted in these courses are liable to be discharged.
The onus of furnishing true, correct and authentic information is upon the College concerned and in case of furnishing of any wrong/incorrect information it shall be open to NMC to initiate action as is permissible in law.
Directorate of Medical Education of all the State/UTs will also submit the details of admission made in their concerned State/UT through mail within two weeks of the last date of admission.
In case of any difficulty in accessing NMC website an email may be sent to support.pgmonitoring@nmc.org.in and the Commission office shall revert within 02 working days to resolve the query/issue.
National Medical Commission has been created by an act of Parliament namely National Medical Commission Act, 2019 in September, 2020. As per, Section 61(2) of National Medical Commission Act, 2019 “Not with standing the repeal of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, the educational standards, requirements and other provision of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and the rules and regulations made thereunder shall continue to be in force and operate till new standards or requirements are specified under this Act or the rules and regulations made thereunder.”
Admission to the Postgraduate courses (PG Diploma, MD/MS, DM, & M.Ch) has to be made in accordance with provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations, 2000. The Regulations framed by the Council have been held to be statutory, binding and mandatory in character by the Hon’ble Supreme Court in its various pronouncements.
For admission in various Postgraduate Medical Courses, the Medical Colleges are required to ensure that the admission is in terms of the following parameters, based upon the judicial decisions and MCI/NMC Regulations:-
i. All admission are made only and exclusively through the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance test (NEET)conducted by the National Board of Examination.
ii. No admission is made beyond the sanctioned intake capacity.
iii. Procedure for selection of candidates is in accordance with clause 9 of the Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations, 2000.
iv. No admission is permitted beyond the cut-off date specified in Regulations/decision of the Hon’ble Supreme Court.
v. The Postgraduate students undergoing Postgraduate Degree/Diploma/Super-Sociality course are paid stipend at par with the stipend being paid to the postgraduate student of State Government Medical Institutions/Central Government Medical Institutions in the State/Union Territory where the institution is located.
