Hair loss drug: Pfizer Litfulo for adults adolescents approved by USFDA

New York:   Pfizer Inc. has announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved LITFULO (ritlecitinib), a once-daily oral treatment, for individuals 12 years of age and older with severe alopecia areata. Haryana: Department of Medical Education & Research (DMER Haryana) has released the procedure for admission to ANM, GNM & MPHW (M) courses in government and private institutes for the academic session 2023-24. In the Government Nursing/MPHW (M) Schools, all seats shall be assigned as State Quota Seats. It is further notified that in Private Nursing/MPHW (M) Schools covered under this notification, 50% of the seats will be assigned as State Quota seats and 50% of seats as Management Quota seats. A novel diagnostic tool for detecting cancer

A team led by researchers at Harvard Medical School has developed a new tool that promises to improve the way pathologists see and evaluate a tumor by providing detailed clues about cancer. The tool, called Orion, combines histologic with molecular information and offers deeper insight into a tumor’s type, behavior, and likely response to treatment. Orion consists of a powerful digital imaging platform that integrates information gained through traditional histology with details revealed by molecular imaging on a tumor sample. The researchers used Orion on tumor samples from 74 patients with colorectal cancer organized into two groups. They found that the information provided by the tool allowed them to identify a biomarker of outcome or a specific combination of features that predicted which colorectal cancers were likely to progress and which were not. CDC panel advises Respiratory syncytial virus vaccination for elders

The newly authorized respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccinations should be given to persons aged 60 to 64 and 65 and older, according to the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) vaccine advisory panel. Regarding usage in the two age categories, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practises (ACIP) had separate votes. A single dosage of the vaccine may be given to persons 65 and older with shared clinical decision-making, according to the first vote, which was approved 9 to 5. Using shared clinical decision making, they said that individual persons ages 60 to 64 may get a single dose of the RSV vaccination in the second ballot, which passed with 13 yes votes and 1 abstention. According to the CDC, 60,000 to 160,000 older persons are admitted to hospitals with RSV infections each year, and the virus is responsible for 6,000 to 10,000 fatalities.
